About Us
Mission Statement
Flint Fresh collaborates with local stakeholders to develop and implement strategies that support an equitable and sustainable food system that assures residents access to good food in Genesee County.
Governance
The Flint Fresh board is comprised of fiduciary members who steer the organization towards a sustainable future by adopting sound ethical, legal, governance and financial management policies, while ensuring Flint Fresh has adequate resources to advance its mission.
Flint Fresh Food Hub
Flint Fresh operates one of the 11 food hubs in Michigan, which houses all of its programs in the renovated facility that opened in the summer of 2018. The 15,000 square foot hub became a reality thanks to generous donations from the Michigan Department of Education, Community Foundation of Greater Flint, Michigan Health Endowment Fund, Tides Foundation and Blue Cross Blue Shield Blue Care Network.
The hub works to get more fresh and healthy foods on the plates of Flint and Genesee County residents through partnerships with local and regional farmers and distributors. In one location, it provides both increased access to a larger market for suppliers as well as local products for buyers, thereby strengthening the local food system.
